Trimmed from a horizontal manuscript page, the image of Buddha Shakyamuni is seated in dhyanasana on a lotus throne. His hands are displaying bhumisparsa and dhyana mudras. Buddha is wearing a red sanghati leaving his right shoulder bare, and his back is supported by a green bolster finely decorated with scrolling foliate vine. His deeply-meditative state is evident in his downcast, focused stare and slightly parted mouth.
